Introduction
The non-magnetic drill collar is made of low carbon high chromium manganese alloy steel. It is refined by strict chemical composition, and its mechanical properties are obtained through forging. When the magnetic field strength is 1×105/4marea/m, the relative permeability bias of non-magnetic drill collars is r≤1.010.
Advantages
Since all magnetic measuring instruments can sense the geomagnetic field of the borehole when measuring the direction of the borehole, the measuring instruments must be in a non-magnetic environment. However, in the drilling process, the drilling tool is often magnetic and has a magnetic field, which affects the magnetic measuring instrument and cannot obtain the correct wellbore trajectory measurement data.
